MDA organizes Symposium with support of Hong Kong Society of Breast Surgeons on Non-radioactive Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy
With close collaboration from the Hong Kong Society of Breast Surgeons, MDA organized a symposium on the increasingly topical subject of non-radioactive Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy. With global interest to find alternatives to use of radioactive isotopes the symposium focused on the clinical experience of leading international and Hong Kong based users of a revolutionary Super paramagnetic iron oxide nanoparticle detection system developed by Endomagnetics Ltd, a UK (Cambridge) based company. Held at the Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel, Dr. Frederic Warnberg, Associate Professor and Consultant from Uppsala Academic Hospital, Sweden presented the results of his research and clinical experience as well as including a review of research and clinical results in Europe. Dr Wong Ting Ting, a private practice surgeon, and Dr. Yolanda Chan of the Kwong Wah Hospital presented their initial experience of non-radioactive Sentinel Lymph node detection and biopsy to a large and focused group of Surgeons and Nurses, numbering over 100, who attended the event. MDA were honoured to organize and host this event on behalf of the Breast Surgeons and Nurses of Hong Kong and are committed to bringing the latest advances in surgical technology and techniques to the dynamic Hong Kong market place…to the benefit of the Hong Kong community. Multi-specialty Medical Mega Conference 2017
The Multi-Specialty Mega Medical Conference continued this year in its seventh round. It was held at Cordis Hong Kong at Langham Place, Mongkok during 29-30 April. Thanks to the joint effort by 50 co-organising medical societies, a comprehensive spectrum of medical sessions, a plenary session and a lunch symposium were presented over the two days, discussing the latest developments and challenges in the healthcare sector.

International Colorectal Disease Symposium cum Asia-Pacific Colorectal Cancer Congress
It was the eighth ICDS which was held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. It was a tremendous success of the ICDS symposia and APCCC. More than 300 participants were attended. It has always been a landmark event that offered medical experts with an invaluable opportunity to show the recent advancements in the treatment of colorectal disease through a series of dialectic lectures, live demonstrations, panel discussion, video session and free papers discussion. With prominent clinical leaders and international faculties from the United States, Europe, Asia-Pacific regions, and local institutions, that was an attractive and stimulating programme.

Hong Kong Urological Association 22nd Annual Scientific Meeting – 20th November, 2016
The Annual Scientific Meeting was held on 20th November. This year’s programme again featured leaders in Urology from around the world whose contribution made this meeting so valued. Mr. Robert Mills from UK and Professor Hana Yoon delivered the BUJI Lecture and the UAA Lecture respectively. Besides, Professor CT Wu from Taiwan, Dr. CW Fan who was the past HKUA president and Professor Declan Murphy from Australia shared with us the latest updates on various common prostate diseases. There were 24 papers for free paper sessions and 23 posters for Moderator Poster sessions.

Multi-Specialty Mega Medical Conference - 23-24TH Apr 2016
Jointly organized by 48 medical societies, this year’s Conference included a comprehensive selection of medical sessions, a plenary conference, and a lunch symposium on topics of vital interest to our profession. As with last year, the event was held at Cordis, Hong Kong at Langham Place in Mongkok, from Saturday, 23 April to Sunday, 24 April, 2016 and we were glad to be a golden sponsor.

Multi-Specialty Mega Medical Conference – 25-26TH May 2015
The Multi-Specialty Mega Medical Conference continued this year in its fifth round. At M3C conference, it is aimed to create a platform of multispecialty programmes for local medical professionals with the most interesting and up-to-date knowledge developments, where different specialties exchange ideas and nurture a spirit of collaboration. The conference is jointly organized by 39 societies, and includes a full range of medical sessions, plenary conference and lunch symposium on the hottest topics that concerns medical profession. It took place at Langham Place Hotel, Mongkok from 25 to 26 April, 2015.

International Colorectal Disease Symposium (ICDS) 2015 – 22-23th January 2015
That was the seventh ICDS held in Hong Kong since its inception in 2002. It has always been a landmark event that offered medical experts with an invaluable opportunity to show the recent advancements in the treatment of colorectal disease through a series of dialectic lectures, live demonstrations, panel discussion, video session and free papers discussion. With prominent clinical leaders and international faculties from the United States, Europe, Asia-Pacific regions, and local institutions, that was an attractive and stimulating programme. The symposium was held at the HKEC Training Centre for Healthcare Management and Clinical Technology which was located in Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital. The advanced audiovisual technology and video-conferencing facilities therein provided the medical professional with an inspiring learning environment to acquire and share experience and best practices.

The Annual Scientific Meeting was held on 9th November. This year’s programme again features leaders in Urology from around the world whose contribution makes this meeting so valued. Professor Krishna Sethia from UK and Professor Ogawa Osamu from Japan delivered the BUJI Lecture and the UAA Lecture respectively. Besides, Professor Paul de Souza from Australia gave a key note lecture on systemic therapy for CRPC. There were 23 papers for Oral free paper sessions and 14 posters for Moderator Poster sessions.

Multi-Specialty Mega Medical Conference – 3-4 May, 2014
The fourth Multi-specialty Medical Mega Conference was held on 3-4 May 2014 at the Langham Hotel Mongkok. With the conjoint effort of thirty-seven medical societies, around one hundred topics which cover almost all specialties were organized into a comprehensive, interesting and informative program. The most welcome feature of this multispecialty program is that one can not only update on development of your own specialty but also keep abreast on knowledge from other specialties and is very often the most interesting and attractive experience according to many participants. There were 24 themed sessions on various specialty subjects arranged in four parallels over the two days of conference. There is also a special debate session on Public Private Partnership and a plenary session on what contribute a perfect health care system.
